Meet the Doula

My name is Jenniffer Moore. I am a Certified Birth and Bereavement Doula and a Placenta Encapsulation Specialist. I live in Torrance, CA with my Husband and 3 daughters. I am very passionate about birth and would like to help make every woman’s experience a positive one. I am here to Educate women about their options and their right to birth how and where they want to. I am here to make sure you are able to make informed decisions with my knowledge and experience of Childbirth and support you in that decision and help with relaxation, massage, positioning, and other techniques for comfort during labor. Childbirth is not only the Birth of your Newborn baby but the birth of a Mother, Partner and Family.

I have taken DONA Birth Doula training, Stillbirthday Birth and Bereavement Training, Acupressure for Labor and Birth, IPPA Placenta and Postpartum Health, Childbirth Educator Training and a Birth Assistant Course. I am currently attending MCU as a student Midwife.

What is a Doula?

The word “doula” comes from the ancient Greek meaning “a woman who serves” and is now used to refer to a trained and experienced professional who provides continuous physical, emotional and informational support to the mother before, during and just after birth; or who provides emotional and practical support during the postpartum period.
Research evidence shows that the quality services of a postpartum doula can ease the transition that comes with the addition of a baby to a family, improve parental satisfaction and reduce the risk of mood disorders.

Doulas are helpful in all types of births

Doulas give Emotional support and Physical comfort weather you are having a Unmedicated, Medicated, Epidural or Planned Cesarean. I can provide you with Education with all of the above. If you choose to get an Epidural , you may want to wait sometime to get one. I can be there with you helping you labor and well as be there with you during the procedure. After you get an epidural, it is important that you change positions every 20-30 minutes. I can also be there to support you through pushing and postpartum.

If you have a planned Cesarean, I can help create a birth plan, atmosphere, and offer support during recovery and postpartum. I can support your partner while you are getting prepped for surgery.
